Using MalWareBytes:

Malwarebytes is a third-party program dedicated to fighting malware. Malwarebytes can identify and remove malicious software from your computer. When your computer becomes infected, Malwarebytes can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the machine back to optimum performance. They provide this FREE version for personal use.

  1. Download MalWareBytes from MalWareBytes site by clicking the previous link or go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and selecting the Free Download button.
  2. Save the file to your Desktop.
  3. Double-click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  4. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  5. Make sure a checkmark is placed next to:
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

  6. Then click Finish.

  7. If an update is found, it asks downloads and install the latest version. To run the update, you can click on the OK button.

  8. Once the program has loaded click Scan Now >>
    (See Note 2 at bottom, if MalWareBytes does not run.)

  9. Scanning your computer for malware begins. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.

  10. When the scan is finished, a message box says:

    Click X in the top corner to close the message box and continue with the removal process.

  11. Back at the main Scanner screen, it will show Potential Threats Detected!. ( If nothing was found, the list is empty.)
  12. Click the Remove Selected button.

  13. When removal is completed,

  14. You may be prompted to Restart.(See the Note down below)
Note: If MalWareBytes encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you are presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MalWarebytes proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Note 2: If running MalWareBytes in Windows "Normal Mode" does not remove the problem or you are unable to boot your computer in Windows "Normal Mode". You may want to retry this procedure in Windows "Safe Mode", please see: Booting in Safe Mode
